An introduction to Tactical Radio theory and application. This class is designed to teach someone with no radio experience the minimum necessary knowledge and skills to operate a hand-held radio in common tactical use cases such as establishing communications with others during an emergency, coordinating a small group in the field, and more. The content covers basic radio theory, operating principles, and troubleshooting at a beginner level.

This is a one day class with approximately 6-8 hours of combined classroom instruction and field exercises. A radio license is not required to attend the class but is required to fully participate in the field exercise that is part of the class. All required equipment will be provided but students are encouraged to bring and practice with their own equipment if they have it.

There is a 50% discount for returning students who have taken this class within the last year.

An intermediate class that builds on Tactical Radio 1. This class is designed to teach the basics of digital radios and how to integrate them into common tactical use cases using relevant tactics, techniques, and procedures. The content covers digital modes (i.e. APRS), digital radios (i.e. DMR, P25), mesh networking (i.e. Meshtastic, MeshCore, WiFi HaLow), band selection, and specialized antennas.

This is a two day class. Starts with 5-6 hours of online classroom instruction followed by an outdoor in-person 6-8 hour field exercise the next day. A radio license is not required to attend the class but is required to fully participate in the field exercise that is part of the class. Some equipment will be provided but students are encouraged to bring and practice with their own equipment if they have it.

An introduction to deploying Tactical Awareness Kit (TAK) applications in common tactical use cases such as performing reconnaissance, coordinating an area search, or maintaining situational awareness within a group. The content includes an introduction to the various TAK clients (i.e. ATAK, iTAK, TAKAware, WinTAK), using a TAK server to synchronize data, and a guided tutorial for using ATAK with a selection of common plugins.

This is a one day class with approximately 6-8 hours of combined classroom instruction and field exercises. All required equipment will be provided but students are encouraged to bring and practice with their own equipment if they have it.
